In-Depth Grid Formatting Options
Some of the Formatting options that you access from the Formatting panel can also be accessed from the overhead ribbon, be improved by Quick Styles, and so on. The topics in this section walk you through the steps you need to follow to make best use of these features, and provide some information about the outcome you can expect.
All Grid Types
You can apply some or all of the following formatting changes to any matrix grids, tabular grids, or raw results grids:
- Alternate Rows in Grids - Display all odd rows in one color and all even rows in another.
- Column Size in Grids - Change the widths of the columns in your grid by applying a preset or by customization.
- Grid Borders - Format the lines around your Grid's cells.
- Grid Fonts - Format the fonts used in your Grid.
- Grid Font Alignment - Align the text in the cells of the Grid.
- Grid Padding - Add padding to or remove padding from selected cells.
Matrix Grids only
The following formatting changes only apply to matrix grids:
- Alignment in Matrix Grids - Position the Matrix Grid on the canvas.
- Expand Icons in Matrix Grids - Show or hide the expand icons (+ / -) associated with the hierarchies in the Matrix Grid.
- Row Area Size in Matrix Grids - Set the total combined width of the row header columns for Matrix Grids.
Tabular and Matrix Grids
The following formatting changes apply to matrix grids and tabular grids:
- Total Formatting in Tabular and Matrix Grids - Show or hide the special formatting for Totals and override the Totals styling.
